We would like to remind you of the upcoming Inset and Closure days:

Morning lessons only (buses leave at midday): 6th October

Inset Day: 7th October (students working from home)

Closure Day: 8th October

To access the data and information specific to your student, you will need to set-up a Parent account (if you are a parent/guardian of a First Year student or if you have not previously activated your account).

Click here to activate your account.

We have had a number of queries about how students’ tutorial sessions are appearing on their timetables so would like to offer clarification. As a first year student at Barton Peveril, you have three hours of tutor a week. You will have a one and a half hour taught session which is marked by your tutor’s name and a room location on your timetable. You will also have an additional online session labelled ‘Tutor Programme’.

The ‘Tutor Programme’ session on your timetable represents the one and half hours that you are expected to use to complete your online tutor content every week. The online lesson will be shared every Monday morning via your tutor group’s Google Classroom but you can complete it at a time that is convenient for you. Each week’s lesson can be accessed independently and will consist of a recording to watch and various tasks to complete. If you are using a study period at college to complete these tasks, you will need headphones but these can be purchased from the college shop. You will be expected to complete your tutor work by the Sunday after it has been set, as tutors will be checking on a Monday for work completion.

If you have further questions, your tutor will be able to answer these when you attend your taught session next week.

All students will be shown the following video to learn how they, and the College, can help keep College life and learning at its best throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic:

A great way to find out about university is to take a look around. There are plenty of virtual tours and open days happening, but now a lot of universities are hosting IN PERSON open days.

You can find out which ones are coming up by visiting their websites and also by clicking on https://www.opendays.com/

Please do encourage your student to go, where possible, so that they can best prepare for their next steps!

Dear parents and guardians,

Please find below a survey from Hampshire Children’s Trust. The results of the survey will help shape the direction of the next Children’s and Young People’s Plan, which identifies key objectives for children, young people and families in Hampshire.

This will close at midnight at the end of Sunday 07 November 2021.

Below is some assistance, should you have any technical difficulties accessing or activating your Parent Pages account:

1) Unable to set up an account.

The most common cause of this problem is using the wrong student reference number to access/set up the account. This should be the number on the back of the student card (or admissions number on Studio).

2) Had a student at Barton Peveril in the past

If you have a student in their Second Year, and another starting their First Year, you will need to add them to your account by clicking “Create account/ add student” on the login page and follow the instructions. However, if your previous student was at College more than a year ago, you will need to create a new account.

3) Password not working

Are you sure you have previously set up an account? If not, set up a new account, then answer the security questions. You will also need to have clicked on the link in the validation email. Until this has been done, your password won’t be recognised.

If you have an account but have forgotten your password, you can request it to be reset from the screen informing you the password was incorrect.

If you require any more assistance, please email: parentcomms@barton.ac.uk.

If your student is absent for all their lessons throughout the day please select All day.

If it is only for certain lessons during the day, please pick the time of the lessons that will be affected.

Once you have filled out the absence, please select save and this information will be sent to, and recorded by, the Pastoral Team.

Dear parents and guardians,

Click here for our latest newsletter for parents, guardians and students. We hope you will find these informative and helpful over the course of the year.

My thanks for the fantastic, positive start made by our students this term. Students are hungry to learn and seem to be enjoying their classes hugely. Many staff have commented on what a lovely culture there is and how much they are enjoying having students back in person, able to join in their classes properly, work in groups and move around the classroom.

With very best wishes,

Jonathan Prest, Principal
