YourHour is another one of our wellbeing apps, designed to help you curb smartphone addiction.
When setting up the app for the first time it asks you to set a Daily Usage Time Limit, so you can try and limit how much time you spend on your phone, and a Daily Phone Unlock Limit to help you reduce the number of times you actually unlock your phone.
YourHour monitors your smartphone useage over time and shows you graphically how much time you spend on your phone and on each application. It also shows you the app you use most so you can get a better understanding of what you are doing on your phone when you don’t even realise you are doing it.
One of the best things about YourHour is that it can tap in to your phones useage history so even when you have just installed the app, you can see your previous useage for the last 7 days.
Based on your previous useage the app will set you an addition level to see just how addicted you are. ‘Addicted’ is the worst where you’d be using your phone for more than 5.5 hours a day and ‘Champion’ is the best where you’ll use your phone for less than an hour each day.
To aid you in breaking your addiction, the app offers you challenges based on your most used apps. For example it might set you a Facebook Fast Challenge for 4 hours where it is challenging you to not open Facebook for 4 hours.
This app can tell you basically WHAT, WHEN and HOW MUCH you use any app on your phone.
The app is free to use but as with most apps there is a premium option available, this is a one off cost of £3.99 which gives you access to the following features:
