Locking your Device

It is important that you remember to lock your device whenever you need to leave it unattended for any period of time, even if you think you are working in a secure location. Following the guidance below will help ensure that we reduce the risk of sensitive data being accessed by anyone unauthorised to do so.

Windows 10

There are a number of options available to lock your Windows 10 device:

  1. Press ⊞ Win+ L
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete, then click Lock

MacOS

  1. Press Control + Command + Q simultaneously
  2. Click the Apple Icon in the upper left corner of the screen and then click Lock Screen

Chromebook

  1. Close the lid of your Chromebook
  2. Press Search Key + L
  3. Briefly press and hold the Power/Padlock key, then select Lock from the options
